King Day to be held August 9th

 

10:30am           Chicken lunch may be purchased from King Post #161 and Auxiliary

1:00pm               Parade.  All Drum & Bugle Corps, Voiture Locomotives, Bands, Color Guards, Honor Guards, Drill Teams, Post & District Colors are invited.  All participating units will be awarded a colorful pennant for their colors. The Parade Marshalls will be Dan Rindt and 2nd and 3rd Vice Commanders.

2:00pm                 Program on Bandstand begins

Chapel Services:

10:00am           Catholic Services –OH Chapel

10:15am           Lutheran Services –AH Chapel

10:30am           Protestant Services –SH Chapel

11:00am           Catholic Services –MH Chapel

Please take this opportunity to volunteer on King Day.  Legionnaires, Sons and Auxiliary Members are encouraged to assist members in getting outside to enjoy the day.  Many members in the King Home will not be able to enjoy the day without your help.  Volunteer to make a new friend by asking for your volunteer opportunity at the ticket table in the park and show everyone we are a service organization.

Posts, Sons Squadrons, and Auxiliary Units are urged to sponsor one or more of the veterans at King to be their guest for the chicken dinner.  For each King member sponsored, send $8 to: Alice Bentley, 231 Countryside Court B, Waupaca, WI 54981.  Make checks payable to: American Legion Auxiliary Unit 161.

All Posts, Voitures, S.A.L. Squadrons, and Auxiliary Units are reminded that their contributions are needed to support this annual program for Wisconsin’s elderly veterans.  These contributions may be mailed directly to: David Jensen, N3631 County Rd E, Waupaca, WI 54981.  Make checks payable to: American Legion King Day.
