Way to rally the membership team we are back on top in the Central Region, but the margin of lead has closed; all of the Detachments are just a few points apart. We moved all the way back to fifth in the Nation.
Membership reports are found on our web site www.wisal.org, under Membership Reports, as PDF files. The March 25th Report is located at this link.
Lets also work on our Commander Project, Camp American Legion, the Josh Dog campaign, and Child Welfare Foundation donations.
Thanks for all that you and your Squadrons do.
Michael Lawler, Detachment Adjutant

Greetings from your Detachment Commander
I hope this newsletter brings everyone in good health and great spirits as spring is on the way. As we enter the spring let’s remember the many American Legion Spring Conferences in your districts. Let us get out and promote the Sons of the American Legion and the American Legion Family and the many programs we have to offer.
Let’s keep on getting our 2009 membership into Department Headquarters so we can have another great year to reach 100% in membership. Thank you to everyone for your hard work on membership and the Commanders Projects and let’s continue to have a great year,
Thanks
Kirk Hove, Detachment Commander
Commander Kirk’s Project:Donate to Camp American Legion, The Sons of The American Legion are here to serve our Veterans and Commander Kirk's project will highlight one of Wisconsin Legions premier veteran’s rehabilitation location. Commander Hove has set the goal of $2.00 per member to be donated to Camp American Legion. If everyone works together, we can raise $6,000.00 and more. With this amount, we could complete a major project that will be identified as a Sons project. Donations should be made payable to Sons of The American Legion with Camp Project on the memo line and mailed to our Finance Officer Dennis Stockfisch N56W18346 Evergreen Ln, Menomonee

The American Legion Child Welfare Foundation
The Sons have been a champian of The American Legion Child Welfare Foundation, and this year we would like to break the 4 Million Dollar donation mark. Your Squadron goal is just one dollar per member, and as a Detachment we are almost half way there, 45 cents per members is our total so far. 4th in the Central Region, let’s get your donations in soon, the deadline is May 31st, you can pick up a donation canister at the Spring DEC in Portage April 25th. Make your donation payable to Child Welfare Foundation and mail it to the Detachment Finance Officer Dennis Stockfisch N56W18346 Evergreen Ln, Menomonee Falls WI 53051
Read below. another great story on how one person (a SAL "Past National Commander") can and still is making a difference. We all know Dave is getting old (he he) but what can you say, he is still "SWINGING 4(million) THE CHILDREN" and showing what can be done with the CWF challenge coins and Christmas ornaments. Call Barb Hey at CWF headquarters and get yours today 317-630-1202
1 coin = $10 donation this adds up quick when trying to hit goal of $1.15 per member.
May 31 is the deadline

Hello Dennis,
I just turned in another $390.00 for cwf, I started selling the Christmas ornaments and then onto the coins. As of this morning, I have a total of $1070.00 and still have 39 coins left. So by the way I figure I should have $1,500.00 by the end of May with a small donation from my district.
Just think if we could get these people [to work together], how much money we'd raise.
Take care
Dave Stephens, SAL PNC
