Consolidated Report Form, the Adjutants Update, a Donation Report, a Membership Report, Membership Recruiter Award Form, Legion Spring Conference Schedule, and Honor Grounds information. Below is a summary of the information.

March is The American Legion’s 90th BirthdayA milestone that shows the Legion and its programs have stood the test of time, make sure your Squadron congratulates its sponsor Post this Month, without them there would be no Sons.
Consolidated Report Form Deadline is June 1st 2009Enclosed in this mailing is your Squadron Annual Consolidated Report Form, you should be keeping a tally of items you have done, monies spent, and hours volunteered to make completing the form a snap.
Remember to ask your squadron members what they have done also. We use this data to keep our organization going as we report to The American Legion and to Congress.
It is important that you fill out the form and return the two top copies to Sons of The American Legion, Detachment of Wisconsin, Report Forms, PO Box 388, Portage WI 53901-0388
Squadron Adjutants it is your responsibility to have these forms completed as part of retaining a Squadron Charter. If your Squadron is not active, please write “No Activities” on the consolidated report form. Be sure to fill a Squadron Information Sheet at this time also.

Scholarship Deadline April 1st,The Sons of The American Legion has a $1,000.00 Scholarship that you may apply for. Some of the rules are listed below:
· Must be a current member, in good standing of the Detachment of Wisconsin, with no less than 3 consecutive years of membership.
· The applicant must have an intention to pursue a course in a (4) year degree-granting institution or (2) year program at a technical college and submit a copy of his letter of acceptance.
· The applicant MUST be in his LAST year of HIGH SCHOOL when applying or within one year after graduation from high school.
· Applications MUST be received at Detachment Headquarters, no later than April 1st
· The following factors will be used in selecting the recipient. a) Scholastic Record, c) Essay,

Have Your Opinion Heard Take The Sons of The American Legion Convention SurveyWith this survey we hope to rate your experiences at the Sons of The American Legion Conventions, Detachment meetings, workshops and other activities. With the data we collect, our goal is to increase attendance and productivity. The survey was mailed with the SALute or can be taken online at www.wisal.org. There are only 16 questions and the survey will only take a few minutes to complete. Your opinion is valuable to us and your input will be extremely helpful as we grow and work towards another seventy-five years of Service to America.

Detachment Convention July 24-26 Milwaukee
Your 41st Annual Detachment Convention will be held July 24-26 Milwaukee at the Wyndham.
Your Convention Committee has been working on events, changes to the agenda, workshops, and more, details will be finalized at the Spring DEC.
Your Squadron Adjutant will receive a delegate certification notification at the end of June. Make sure to send your delegates to represent your Squadron and to vote for the Detachment Officers.
Detachment Spring Meetings to Be Held In Portage April 25 2009We will be holding our Spring DEC meetings in Portage April 25 2009, We will meet at SAL Headquarters 2930 American Legion Dr., Portage at 9:00 AM. Mandatory for Detachment Officers, Recommended to Squadron Officers and Members.
Veterans Administration Voluntary Services “VAVS”Representatives and Deputies Needed: We want you to get involved, if you able to drive to a VA Hospital for special events and quarterly meetings the opportunity awaits you.
Get Your Squadrons Involved: Your Squadron can get involved through monetary donations, sponsor newspaper and television subscriptions, or other special projects (large or small), and by attending special events, i.e. the Salute to Hospitalized Veterans, Ice Cream Socials, Former Prisoner of War Day Friday April 10th.
Contact your local VA Hospital, Adjutant Michael Lawler, VA&R Chairman Rodney Fall or Commander Kirk Hove if you are interested in being VAVS Representatives and Deputy Representatives.
